Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew
-Aboriginal Bark Drawing
Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew is a non-departmental public body in the United Kingdom sponsored by the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and an internationally important botanical research and education institution.
This commission involved replicating etchings from an original Aboriginal bark drawing, that would be used on a roadside display in Australia and in the books; 'Art in the Time of Colony' by Khadja von Zinnenburg Carroll and 'Rethinking Australia's Art History: The Challenge of Aboriginal Art' by Susan Lowish.
For this project a series of black and white ink sketches were created to help bring the narrative of these anecdotal tales of B+B living to life.
